Over 40 years. The company was founded by Brian Arrigo, who began in the produce business in Ontario, Canada and started with watermelons.

Both, and the mix moves with the season. A large share of what SCP ships is grown on its own acreage across eleven regions, and the company handles a considerably wider line of fresh fruits and vegetables through the same operation.

Yum Yum is Southern Corporate Packers' produce label. Product packed under the Yum Yum brand is grown and shipped by SCP.

The principal programs are watermelons, bell and specialty peppers, squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, green beans, eggplant, lettuce and hard squash. SCP also handles melons, leafy greens, cole crops, sweet corn, okra, roots and tubers, tropicals, herbs, citrus and berries, among others. What is running changes through the season, so the sales desk is the fastest way to get current availability.

By count, peppers. Southern Corporate Packers sells more peppers each year than watermelons, even though watermelon is the company's founding and best-known crop.

Yes. Mini seedless watermelons ship in 9-count packs. SCP also handles yellow-flesh and orange-flesh watermelons alongside the standard red-flesh line.

Yes. SCP's farms are spread across eleven growing regions so supply follows the season. Florida runs the winter and spring deal, then production moves north through Georgia and into the eastern and midwestern regions for summer and fall, with Mexican, Dominican, and Puerto Rican supply covering the remaining windows.

Cello iceberg is iceberg lettuce individually film wrapped before packing. It holds better through distribution and is the preferred pack for many retail produce sets.

Yes. Florida and the desert regions cover the winter and spring, and western production covers spring through fall, so lettuce can be quoted on a standing weekly program.

Acorn, butternut and spaghetti squash are the core line, in extra large and large grades. Kabocha, delicata, hubbard and calabaza are available for fuller assortments.
